  19. This file contains ROUTEGEN.EXE v1.0 and associated files that shipped with
  20. NetWare v2.2.  This file is to satisfy the demands of several customers who
  21. wish to have external router capabilities with NetWare 3.12 and 4.01 and don't
  22. need the extra features and speed of the Novell (MPR) Multi-protocol Router
  23. package.

  35.      ROUTEGEN.EXE did not ship with NetWare v3.12 and/or NetWare v4.01
  36.

  38. SOLUTION
  39.  
  40.      ROUTEGEN.EXE is based on the 286 architecture and is no longer Novell's
  41.      direction.  It also requires older 286 style drivers which architecture
  42.      has been replaced by ODI (see ODIINFO.DOC in DOSUP9.EXE for full
  43.      explanation).

  45.      Novell now recommends using the Novell MRP 2.1 plus which is the high-end
  46.      replacement for older external routers built with ROUTEGEN.

  48.      If however you would like to use the old style router you may use your
  49.      old copy from 3.11 or 2.2.  For necessary LAN drivers, download
  50.      DRVX.EXE.

  81.      NOTE:     The files found in DRV2X.EXE are required to successfully
  82.                install the external router software.

  84.      1)   Format a diskette and label it LAN_DRV_001. Copy all the .LAN and
  85.           .OBJ files from DRV2X.EXE onto it.  Also copy onto this diskette
  86.           the files NULLB.OBJ, NULLC.OBJ, and NULLD.OBJ from EXTRTR.EXE.

  88.      2)   Format a diskette and label it ROUTEGEN.  Copy all the files found
  89.           in EXTRTR.EXE onto it excluding NULL*.OBJ files.

  91.      3)   Insert the ROUTEGEN diskette into the appropriate floppy drive and
  92.           type ROUTEGEN <Enter>.   Follow the menu options to create the
  93.           router.  If using the Ethernet_802.2 frame type is desired, refer to
  94.           NE286.TXT contained in DRV2X.EXE for instructions.
